WoW Forever Beta Not Showing Up? How to Force the Install and Fix Common Launch Issues

The World of Warcraft: Forever Closed Beta is now live, but launch night has been rough for a large number of players.

Despite having beta access through eligible premium editions, many players are reporting that WoW Forever simply does not appear in the Battle.net launcher. Others are running into stalled downloads, overloaded EU servers, or login issues before they can even reach character creation.

The good news is that several workarounds are already circulating through the community.

Here’s what you can try if your WoW Forever Beta access is missing or not working.

How to Force the WoW Forever Beta to Appear in Battle.net

If the beta is missing from your Battle.net game version dropdown, you can attempt to launch the installer manually using a Battle.net command-line argument.

First, completely close Battle.net.

Make sure the launcher is not still running in the background. You can check Task Manager and confirm that Battle.net and Agent.exe have both stopped.

Then press Windows + R and enter:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Battle.net\Battle.net.exe" --game=wow_classic_beta --install

Press Enter.

Battle.net should reopen directly into the installation flow for the beta.

Note: If Battle.net is installed in a different location on your PC, you will need to replace the path with the correct location of Battle.net.exe.

This is currently one of the most useful fixes for players who own beta access but cannot see the client in the launcher.

Beta Download Much Larger Than Expected? Reuse Your Existing WoW Files

Before starting a completely fresh install, check where Battle.net wants to place the beta.

Players with an existing World of Warcraft Retail or Classic installation can potentially save a significant amount of download space by installing the beta into the same main World of Warcraft directory.

Battle.net can reuse shared game data instead of downloading every archive again.

Players using this method have reported downloading roughly 14 GB of new files rather than the full installation size of around 60 GB.

If you are short on SSD space or dealing with a slow connection, this is worth checking before hitting Install.

Download Stuck at 0 B/s? Try Switching Battle.net Regions

Some players are also seeing the beta download stall completely at 0 B/s.

With launch traffic hitting Battle.net heavily, particularly in Europe, switching the launcher login region may help.

To try it:

  1. Log out of Battle.net.
  2. Click the gear icon on the login screen.
  3. Change your login region to Americas.
  4. Log back in.
  5. Resume the installation.

This does not necessarily change your WoW character region by itself, but it may allow Battle.net to connect through different infrastructure and resume the download.

EU Beta Servers Under Heavy Load

European players are currently reporting particularly severe congestion, including long queues and difficulty reaching the character selection or creation screens.

Some players have had better luck connecting through the Americas region.

However, there is an important warning before you do this.

Think Before Creating a Character on US Realms

If beta characters are locked to their original region or realm for this testing phase, creating a character on an American server could mean staying there for the rest of the beta.

That matters if you plan to:

  • Play with friends
  • Join a guild testing group
  • Progress the same character throughout the beta
  • Participate in organized dungeon or raid testing

Escaping a queue tonight may not be worth separating yourself from your group later.

Beta Access Still Missing? Refresh Your Battle.net Account

If the forced-install command works but Battle.net still refuses to recognize your access, the issue may be related to account entitlement synchronization.

One workaround being shared by players is to force Battle.net to refresh its authentication session.

You can try:

  1. Signing out of Battle.net.
  2. Logging into Blizzard Account Management in your browser.
  3. Changing your Battle.net password.
  4. Signing back into the launcher.

This forces Battle.net to issue a fresh authentication session and may cause recently granted beta access to synchronize correctly.

Make sure your authenticator and account recovery options are available before changing your password.

WoW Forever Beta Phase 1: Level Cap and Available Content

The first closed beta phase is scheduled to run through October 21, 2026, with characters capped at Level 30.

That puts the focus heavily on early-game class design, leveling, dungeons, and the first major round of balance testing.

Players will be able to experiment with the beta’s redesigned class systems, including:

  • New abilities
  • Reworked talent trees
  • Hybrid build options
  • Updated class identities
  • Early dungeon balance

With the level cap set to 30, instances such as The Deadmines and Shadowfang Keep should become particularly useful places for comparing new builds and group compositions.

WoW Forever Launch Night Is Already Showing the Demand for Classic+

Technical issues aside, the size of the launch-night rush is notable.

The beta attracted a massive audience almost immediately, with more than 550,000 viewers watching WoW streams on Twitch shortly after the test began.

For Blizzard, WoW Forever is one of the clearest attempts yet to build an official version of what players have traditionally called Classic+: keeping the original World of Warcraft foundation while adding new content, class mechanics, and progression systems.

That also means this beta will likely be watched closely by players interested not only in new content, but in how aggressively Blizzard is willing to change Classic’s original design.

WoW Forever Release Date

The current worldwide release date for World of Warcraft: Forever is November 4, 2026.

That leaves Blizzard only a short testing window to gather feedback on class balance, server stability, progression pacing, and the technical issues already appearing during the first beta phase.

You can find the release alongside the month’s other major launches in our November 2026 game release calendar.

Quick Fixes for WoW Forever Beta Problems

If you’re trying to get into the beta tonight, these are the main fixes worth trying:

  • Beta missing from Battle.net: use the forced-install command.
  • Huge download size: install into your existing World of Warcraft directory.
  • Download stuck at 0 B/s: log out and switch Battle.net to the Americas region.
  • Beta entitlement not appearing: refresh your Battle.net authentication session.
  • EU servers overloaded: consider US realms, but be careful before creating your main beta character there.

Launch-night issues are likely to change quickly as Blizzard adjusts server capacity, but for now, these community workarounds may help get you past the launcher and into the beta.
