    Children’s Week is live now through May 4 in WoW Classic, The Burning Crusade Anniversary, and Mists of Pandaria Classic. If you’ve got a free evening and a soft spot for Azeroth’s tiniest adventurers, this is a quick, low-level-friendly event with a cute pet reward at the end.     Where to start (and who can participate)

    Any character level 10 or higher can pick up an orphan companion and take them on a short tour. Talk to an Orphan Matron in one of the following hubs to get started:

    • Alliance: Orphan Matron Nightingale in Stormwind
    • Horde: Orphan Matron Battlewail in Orgrimmar
    • Neutral: Orphan Matron Mercy in Shattrath
    • Neutral: Orphan Matron Aria in Dalaran

    Alliance characters can adopt Human and Draenei orphans, while Horde characters can adopt Orc and Blood Elf orphans. Both factions can adopt either of the Oracles or the Frenzyheart Tribe orphans. Once you’ve chosen a companion and completed their requested stops, you’ll pick a non-combat pet as your reward. According to Wowhead Classic’s post, these pets are account-wide.

    Note: The event runs for a single week (April 27–May 4). If you plan to do it on multiple characters or across different Classic flavors, don’t wait until the last day.

    Quick UI and routing tips

    Children’s Week is simple, but a little prep keeps it smooth:

    • Keep the orphan’s quest objectives at the top of your log so you don’t bury them under dungeons or dailies.
    • Plan your travel in one loop. You’ll be guiding your orphan around Azeroth, so stack nearby stops to reduce backtracking.
    • If you’re an altoholic, remember the reward pets are described as account-wide—finishing on one character can benefit your roster.

    What to expect in Phase 5

    Timeless Isle arrives with the patch on June 2. As outlined by Blizzard Watch, expect the Emperor Shaohao faction, Timeless Coins as a new currency, and multiple world bosses at the Celestial Court. Ordos remains gated behind completion of Wrathion’s Legendary Cloak, and Emperor Shaohao reputation comes from activity on the Isle (including Yaungol and world bosses). Coins can be spent at Isle vendors.

    Transmog and Proving Grounds are part of the 5.5.4 patch according to Blizzard’s PTR notes (5.5.4 PTR Development Notes). The notes state the new Transmog system is available on PTR and call out Proving Grounds scenarios as part of the update.

    UI prep tips for day one

    Update your core raid tools before Thursday. Keep your boss mod and any Siege-specific WeakAuras current once authors push Phase 5 builds. If you use a UI pack, check for a Phase 5 profile to avoid conflicts with new spell IDs and encounter events.

    For Timeless Isle, enable nameplate aura widgets and clear combat text so you can track short buffs, procs, and ground effects in the chaos. A simple coordinates display and a minimap button bar make rare hunting and vendor hopping less clumsy.

    If you’re finishing the Legendary Cloak, add a saved equipment set for your “questing/Isle” loadout and bind it to a convenient key. Keep your chat timestamps and loot alerts visible—Timeless Coins and reputation gains disappear fast in spammy combat logs.

    Warrior
    • The 4-piece damage Tier 15 set is no longer removed when the player changes stances.
    • The 4-piece damage Tier 15 set is now applied to the player even if they cast Recklessness while in Defensive Stance, but it does not provide any effect and will read as granting 0% increased critical strike chance.
    • The 4-piece damage Tier 15 set now updates dynamically based on the player’s stance. If the player enters Defensive Stance from Battle or Berserker, the buff is set to 0% instead of removed. If the player enters Battle or Berserker Stance from Defensive Stance, the buff is set back to 35% instead of removed.

    This change ensures that the Tier 15 bonus persists properly across stance swaps, reducing confusion and improving consistency for Warriors juggling stances during combat.

    Blizzard has just rolled out a small but noteworthy hotfix for World of Warcraft Classic: The Burning Crusade Anniversary celebration!

    According to Community Manager Kaivax, the team addressed an issue with one of the most iconic encounters in Karazhan:

    Fixed an issue that was causing the Karazhan Chess Event to run much faster than intended, allowing Medivh to cheat more often than he should. Sneaky Medivh!

    Players had noticed that the Chess Event was completing at an unusually rapid pace — giving Medivh (and sometimes players!) an advantage that wasn’t part of the design. This hotfix restores the intended pacing and difficulty, ensuring the event feels as epic as it’s meant to be.

    Hotfix: Riding Skill Fixed for Boosted TBC Characters

    Blizzard has deployed a hotfix today to address an issue affecting Level 58 boosted characters in TBC Classic Anniversary who did not properly receive their Riding skill.

    According to Community Manager Kaivax, the problem has now been corrected:

    With a hotfix earlier today, we corrected the level of Riding skill for boosted characters who did not receive Riding correctly. Upon completing the first boost quest “A New Beginning”, boosted characters should now automatically receive Apprentice Riding.

    What you need to do if you were affected

    If you boosted a character and already completed “A New Beginning” but did not receive Apprentice Riding:

    👉 Simply log out and log back in — your Riding skill should then be granted automatically.

    Blizzard indicated that they are confident in the fix, but they will continue monitoring reports in case any characters are still affected.

    Why this matters

    This fix is important because:

    • Apprentice Riding is required to use most ground mounts
    • Many boosted players were unable to ride properly after using their Level 58 boost
    • This issue could have delayed players preparing for Outland

    With this resolved, boosted characters should now be fully ready to step through the Dark Portal when TBC Classic Anniversary launches on February 5, 2026.
